Marmaris-Fethiye-Marmaris (1 week)


Day 1: When all members of your group have arrived
the skipper will welcome you with a cocktail and answer
any questions you may have about the trip. For your first
night on board we’ll stay in the harbour so that you may
get acquainted at leisure with lively Marmaris.
Day 2: After this breakfast of our tour, your dream
journey starts through ekinci. Here you have the
possibility to join an optional to excursion to dalyan /
Caunos, a caria city supposedly founded by son of
Miletos. The city carries an antique value by its Stone
tombs, acropol castle, antique theatre and church
complex. You will be met by a river boat which will take
the group to  the site of ancient caunos in the delta of
Dalyan river, and then upriver further to the suphur mud
baths supposedly very cleansing for your skin. The
extensive sandy beaches of dalyan delta are one of the
last breeding places of the mediterrenean sea turtles
caretta caretta. Day ends in Ekincik bight with a dinner as
usual.
Day 3: Even before you wake up in the morning yacht
will leave Ekincik so as to profit from the morning wind
which usually blows off Dalaman beach. Our yacht will cast
anchor for breakfast and a dive into crystal clear water we’ll
drop anchor in Manastir Bay. Later in the afternoon we will
sail on to Bedri Rahmi Bay, “cleator” of the blue voyages.
We’ll anchor in this lovely place for the night.
Day 4: On this day we’ll set sail for Tershane Island. Many
centuries ago the people of this region built their wooden
ships here. You can stil see ruins of the ancient shipyard.
Later in the day we’ll sail on to Göcek bay, our anchorage
for the night. Göcek is a small village but
recently it has developed into a yachting base with two
marinas and many yachting facilities.
Day 5: After breakfast, we’ll leave Göcek for Kargi Bay, a
quiet pictures location where we’ll spend ample time
swimming, snorkelling and wind surfing. This little bay is
a paradise for snorkelling fans. What’s more, it’s also
meeting place for many kids of fish, just waiting to be
caught. Good luck to any fishermen among us !
Day 6: This morning we’ll go on to the town of Fethiye.
You’ll surely spend some time in town, sight-seeing and
shopping. A second optional excursion will be aranged here
for you. The trip goes on to Saklikent an hidden Gorge
and to the very famous Blue Lagoon by Jeeps or minibus.
Day 7: After breakfast we’ll set sail for Kadırga Bay where
we’ll spend some time swimming, surfing, snorkeling and
for a last dive into the clear water of outer Marmaris Bay,
then we’ll make fast for Marmaris quay. At this last night
you will have shopping oppurtunity and join the Bars
Street.
Day 8: Our last breakfast together, then it’ll be time to
say goodbye until we meet again, some other time for
another cruise.

TURKISH KEBAB

Who has never heard of shish kebab? In Turkish, shish kebab, literally means “gobbets of meat roasted on a spit or skewers.” Probably the most famous preparation for grilled lamb, there seems to be countless recipes. It is said that shish kebab was born over the open field fires of the soldiers of the Turkic tribes that first invaded Anatolia, who used their swords to grill meat, as they pushed west from their homelands in Central Asia. Given the obvious simplicity of spit-roasting meat over a fire, I suspect its genesis is earlier. There is iconographical evidence of Byzantine Greeks cooking shish kebabs. But surely the descriptions of skewering strips of meat for broiling in Homer’s  Odyssey  must count for an early shish kebab.     In the Arab world, the same preparation is called  shish kabab  or  lahm mishwy  (grilled meat).
